Applicants must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Must be a registered member of MY Bharat.
  • Must be an Indian citizen.
  • Age should be between 18 and 29 years at the time of application.
  • Must have passed Class 12 (Senior Secondary) or equivalent.
  • Should possess an interest in sports, youth engagement, event management, community service or volunteering.
  • Must be willing to participate in training programmes and volunteer deployment activities as and when required.

Please note that submission of an application does not guarantee selection. Applications will be shortlisted as per the selection criteria and training requirements determined by the Department of Sports and Sports Authority of India (SAI).

The Sports Volunteerism Initiative by MY Bharat, in collaboration with the Department of Sports, aims to build a dedicated team of youth volunteers to support sporting events across India. No. You do not need to be a sportsperson to apply. Any registered MY Bharat member who meets the eligibility criteria and has an interest in sports, youth engagement, event management, or community service can apply for the Sports Volunteerism Initiative.

Volunteer roles may include event operations, registration and accreditation support, hospitality and guest services, logistics and venue management, crowd management, media and communication support, athlete assistance, and other operational roles required during sporting events organised or supported by the Department of Sports.

Any registered member of MY Bharat who is an Indian citizen, between 18 and 29 years of age at the time of application, and has passed Class 12 (Senior Secondary) or equivalent can apply, subject to fulfilling the other eligibility criteria.

The Sports Volunteer Foundation Course is a mandatory orientation and training module designed to equip volunteers with foundational knowledge about sports event operations, volunteer conduct, safety protocols, and their roles and responsibilities during deployment.

Yes. Completion of the required training programmes is mandatory before deployment. Shortlisted applicants will be guided to complete the necessary training before being assigned to any sporting event.

Yes. Volunteers who successfully complete the required training and fulfil their assigned duties will receive recognition and certificates through the MY Bharat platform.

Deployment will be based on the requirements of sporting events, the volunteer's skills and interests, availability, and location. The Department of Sports, in coordination with MY Bharat, will assign volunteers to suitable events and roles after the selection and training process.

Applicants may indicate their preferences during registration. However, final deployment is subject to event requirements, availability of positions, and the decision of the Department of Sports.

Travel and accommodation arrangements, if any, will be communicated to selected volunteers based on the specific event and deployment guidelines issued by the organising authority.

No. Sports Volunteerism is a voluntary engagement and does not constitute paid employment, contractual employment, or confer any legal right to claim employment with the Government or MY Bharat.
