As India prepares to celebrate Independence Day 2026, the Ministry of Defence, in partnership with My Bharat and MyGov invites citizens across the nation to participate in a series of engaging competitions and activities.
Independence Day marks the spirit of freedom, sacrifice, and national pride. It is an opportunity to honour the contributions of our freedom fighters and reflect on India's journey towards becoming a Viksit Bharat by 2047.
Through these contests, citizens—especially youth and students—are encouraged to showcase their creativity, knowledge, and vision for a stronger, innovative, and self-reliant India.
Top 200 participants, along with one companion (spouse/guardian/parent/son/daughter/relative, etc), will be issued an e-Invitation by the Government of India, Ministry of Defence, to witness the Independence Day Ceremony 2026 to be held on 15th August 2026 at Red Fort, New Delhi.
Further, children below 05 years of age shall not be permitted as companions for attending the ceremony.
Participants selected for issuance of e-Invitations for the Independence Day Ceremony 2026 at Red Fort, New Delhi shall be required to provide the following mandatory details for themselves and one companion (spouse/guardian/parent/son/daughter/relative, etc.):
