Hand washing may seem like a simple act, yet it remains one of the most effective ways to prevent infections and promote good health. To raise awareness about the importance of proper hand hygiene and to encourage everyone to adopt this healthy habit in their daily lives, an Orientation Session on “Hand Wash for a Healthy Life and Healthy AP” was organized by NSS Units 2, 14, and 19 on behalf of the NSS Bureau, Sri Padmavati Mahila Visvavidyalayam (SPMVV), Tirupati.
Dr. V. Chandra Sekhar, Associate Professor, SVIMS–Sri Padmavati Women’s Medical College, Tirupati, attended the session as the resource person. He enlightened all the NSS volunteers on the significance of hand washing, explained the process and the steps involved in proper hand hygiene, and demonstrated the technique using coal powder and hand wash.
The session helped participants understand not just how to wash hands effectively, but also why it is vital — highlighting its crucial role in preventing diseases.
