On 11th September 2025, the District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), South Garo Hills District, organized an awareness programme at Sibbari Deficit Higher secondary School. The programme was conducted to sensitize students and participants on various social and health-related issues, focusing on child protection, women’s empowerment, oral health under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Scheme.

The programme commenced with a welcome speech by Shri. Bilgrak Ch Sangma Specialist in Financial Literacy.

Shri. Dament Ch. Sangma, UBSI, delivered a speech on the POCSO Act, emphasizing child rights and safety.

Smt. Twinsilla Marak, Gender Specialist, spoke on Mission Shakti, highlighting women’s empowerment initiatives.

Dr. Trezia M. Sangma, Dental Surgeon,stressing the importance of maintaining proper dental hygiene.

Smt. Pringchinora M. Sangma, DSRC Counsellor, gave an awareness talk on STD, STI, and HIV/AIDS.

A total of 252 participants attended the programme and 30 Saplings were planted.
